International Friendship Day: Say Hi to Your Friends Today!

International Friendship Day: Say Hi to Your Friends Today!

International Friendship Day is celebrated every 30th July. Unlike before, this year, there are many limitations because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Historically, International Friendship Day has been celebrated since the 1900s. The founder of the Hallmark card, Joyce Hall, claims to have declared Friendship Day in 1919.  Therefore, there was a suggestion that this moment is ratified as an official international day. The proposal first surfaced in 1958. On 27th April 2011, the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) finally officially declared 30th July as International Friendship Day.

As the world faces a pandemic, the enthusiasm for celebrating Friendship Day is like never before. But there are ways to keep the nuances of the warning from fading.

  1. Write a greeting for a friend.

Sending a letter or greeting card seems old school, but that's what makes an impression. Receiving a letter or greeting card during this digital era will undoubtedly give its meaning or uniqueness.

  1. Use social media

Not something strange, even very common. What is currently not uploaded on social media? Therefore, showing friendship through various digital platforms seems the simplest at this time.

  1. Chatting online

When hanging out together becomes risky, chatting virtually will be an option. After all, it will not reduce the essence of friendship.

Are you going to celebrate International Friendship Day this year?
